With easy access from Denver, hiking in the Enchanted Forest is a go-to. This is our favorite trail in this area because of its mix of shade and sun and its loop trail. Though it can occasionally get muddy in the winter, it’s a great option for hiking any time of year.
One thing you don’t have to worry about is mountain bikers, because hikers and bikers are each limited to certain days of the month. Keep in mind that hiking on this trail is only allowed on odd days of the month, but this is a pro for us because you don’t have to worry about dodging bikers with your dog. The only downside is there is no trashcan at the trailhead, so make sure to pack out waste bags.
